Vindigo Extends Mobile Advertising Capabilities; Inks Deals with ABSOLUT and DreamWorks SKG

Addition of Graphics and Advanced Point-of-Interest Targeting Lets Companies Increase Brand Awareness and Customer Loyalty Through Mobile Advertising

New York —August 7, 2001—Vindigo, the leading developer of personal navigation applications for mobile devices, today announced enhancements to its mobile ad serving technology. Content publishers such as Zagat Survey and The New York Times Digital rely on Vindigo's mobile publishing platform to deliver their content to over 500,000 consumers and to serve advertisements for companies such as Sprint PCS, Mercedes-Benz, American Express, and NBC.

Vindigo's new advanced targeting capability lets advertisers deliver messages by demographic profile, including age, income and gender, as well as defined sub-categories such as "shoes" within the Shop channel or "comedy" within the Movie channel. Advertisers can also include company logos and other graphic elements to enhance the impact of their messages.

"ABSOLUT INSIGHTS," the wireless advertising campaign created by TBWA\Chiat\Day Interactive, New York, delivers unique "conversation starters" within Vindigo based on category placement. For example, users scanning nightlife reviews from washingtonpost.com for a lounge where they can enjoy a martini might learn that "Vodka is a slavic word which means 'Little Water.'" The ABSOLUT campaign is the first to take advantage of Vindigo's micro-targeting potential to deliver witty insights based on context. TBWA\Chiat\Day decided that Vindigo was the right vehicle for this campaign because of its niche demographic and sophisticated audience, the same type of audience that enjoys ABSOLUT Vodka.

"Vindigo's point of interest targeting capability tackles a key challenge in today's advertising climate - namely, how to identify and communicate with the right consumers," said Jason Devitt, chief executive officer of Vindigo. "Vindigo provides companies with the ability to target by demographic and psychographic, ensuring that valuable ad dollars are not wasted on the wrong audience."

Today Vindigo also announces the addition of Dreamworks SKG to its client list with a cross-promotional partnership. Dreamworks has developed a mobile ad campaign to promote the upcoming release of its new Woody Allen movie, "The Curse of the Jade Scorpion". Promotions will run on the Vindigo platform offering the chance to win a trip to New York City and passes to the movie screening.
