Panel of industry judges award category excellence and outstanding achievement awards at the Handango Partner Summit

HURST, Texas - June 17, 2002 - Handango, the leading publisher of mobile software, honored the top applications and companies in the mobile software community with the Handango Champion Awards. Judged by a panel of industry experts, the winners were each given an extensive marketing package and an award to honor their achievement. The awards were presented at a dinner in historic San Antonio, Texas during the Handango Partner Summit and were sponsored by Microsoft, Nokia, Palm and USAToday.com. Winners were chosen from thousands of applications available from Handango and judged against three finalists in each category. The judges were Leonard Fischer, USAToday.com; Shawn Barnett, Pen Computing; Steven Bush, Brighthand Consulting, Inc.; Wes Salmon, PDABuzz.com; Ronald Rosberg, Early Adopter/ABC Radio - KSFO and KGO AM; Ronny Ko, Bityard Magazine; James Hromadka, VisorCentral and Bill Mann, industry expert.

"Winning a Handango Champion Award is truly an honor. It feels great to be chosen by a large group of independent judges from so many different mobile publications," said Scott Sbihli, vice president of product development of Mobile Design Technologies. "This award tells us the work we're doing is recognized not only by physicians and hospitals, but the wireless community at large. Beyond the plaque and recognition, Handango has gone the extra step by also awarding us a marketing package to help continue our sales growth."

"The Handango Champion Awards are an exciting opportunity for Handango to honor the best in mobile software and the extraordinary companies that make this market so hot," said Laura Rippy, chief executive officer of Handango.
