Tribune Interactive and Vindigo Partner to Deliver Content to Handheld Devices

Partnership Enables Tribune Interactive to Deliver Dining and Nightlife Information for Chicago, Los Angeles and South Florida via Mobile Devices

New York City—November 13, 2000—Tribune Interactive today announced a strategic partnership with Vindigo, developer of the leading personal navigation platform for handheld computers, that will enable consumers in Chicago, Los Angeles and South Florida to access the latest dining and nightlife information from their handheld devices.

Under the agreement, content from Tribune Interactive's latimes.com, sun-sentinel.com and metromix.com -- Chicago Tribune's online entertainment guide -- will be made available through Vindigo in the next several weeks. By simply downloading the application from the Vindigo Web site, www.vindigo.com, users will be able to find the nearest restaurants, bars, nightclubs, stores and movies in their city.

"We've always been committed to providing consumers with the timely, local content they need to make fast, informed decisions about where to go and what to do," said David Hiller, Tribune Interactive president. "Our partnership with Vindigo enables us to deliver our content to mobile platforms, making it even more convenient for consumers to access the information they want and need."

Consumers with Palm(TM) handhelds and compatibles can instantly get reviews from Tribune Interactive sites by accessing Vindigo and entering their location and choice of entertainment category. Users can also get directions to, and details on, popular places to eat, shop and play. An internet-ready mobile phone version will also be available later this year.

"We're delighted that Tribune Interactive has chosen the Vindigo platform to publish their great local content to mobile devices like Palm(TM) handhelds," said Jason Devitt, co-founder and CEO of Vindigo. "Vindigo is a great way to find things to do, places to go and movies to see in a city, using a device that people carry with them everywhere. By teaming up with Tribune Interactive we will significantly strengthen our service to thousands of people in Chicago, Los Angeles and South Florida."

This partnership furthers Tribune Interactive's position as the leading interactive news and information provider in major markets across the United States. While Tribune Interactive will initially provide content from three different sites through Vindigo, the partnership may be expanded in the future to include content from other sites.
