Vindigo Wins Kelsey Group's Local Internet Service Award

New York City - July 25, 2000 — Vindigo, the leading developer of personal navigation applications for handheld devices, today announced it was named the Best Wireless Handheld Service at the Third Annual Local Internet Service Awards (LISAs). The LISA Awards were announced Thursday, July 20th in conjunction with The Kelsey Group's Local Online Commerce conference in Boston. Vindigo demonstrated its application that transforms Palm handheld devices and compatibles into personal navigators. The LISAs are independently judged according to more than 30 criteria. With 125 entries, this year's LISAs represented the most competitive field ever. The LISA finalists were judged by a panel consisting of Professor Jim Lengel of the Boston University College of Communication; Daniele DeFrancesco and Jim Youll from the MIT Media Lab; Laurent Burman from the Harvard Business School; Jennifer Gormley, Director of Business Relations at the National Center for Accessible Media; and Scott Kirsner, columnist for the Boston Globe.
